I agree with you re Bolton. However, we can observe where Trump is going
with this whole G20 trip. He is turning America away from world leadership and a global partnership that we helped create. His pronouncements about the US are nativist and isolationist. The G20 voted 19-1 on a couple of resolutions. Guess who voted no? We're talking about actually imposing protectionist policies with regard to steel and probably other products, policies that Republicans have traditionally opposed in the past and which will benefit few people. China, Russia and Germany are starting to step into the leadership vacuum absented by our own President.
This administration seems hell-bent on diminishing the US as a world leader, except for the big stick, of course. Now maybe the US will be a bit less interventionist than it has been, but with Trump's sabre rattling I'm not holding my breath.
